What side effects did you experience while on this medication?

Hi, I'm Maggie

Continuation to my previous post. Nothing took away those side effects. I took Tylenol for fever. I can only take Tylenol because I have a kidney transplant. Nothing stopped the vomiting but I drank Gatorade to help with dehydration.

Hi, I'm Maggie

I was diagnosed in March 2011. I began with Melphalan tablets. The first few days , I developed low grade fevers. The oncologist asked me to stop. He then put me on IV Velcade and Dexamethasone. This worked brought the serum kappa down from (5000’s) to normal within a couple of months. The only side effects at the time were fever, vomiting and diarrhea. I would of course be very weak from that and not eating. It took a couple of months for this to subside. Now I just get nauseous and rarely vomit. I also continue to get low grade fevers. At times my fevers go as high as 103 – 104. When this happens, I cannot get out of bed let alone take care if any household chores or cooking. I am a 48 year old single mother of 3 boys. 29, 25, and 14. My granddaughter will be 5 I. June. They help with what they can. My granddaughter and 14 year old care for me the best. :)
